Nowadays, for rapid prototype making material are not restricted to plastic and metal material. The foam material are applied more and more extensively at present. Now let us introduce a kind of foam -- PVC.
What is PVC foam?
PVC foamboard is made up of an interpenetrating polymer network between PVC and Polyurea. It’s is solid and has a very rigid structure. Where it differs is in its closed-cell foam structure, which makes it very light (as little as half the weight of solid PVC), highly resistant to moisture and some chemicals, and very easy to cut and shape. It also has thermoplastic properties.
There are some Specifications of PVC foam:
1. Waterproof and mould proof 2. Widely used in kitchen and washroom cabinet. 3. Thickness from 1mm to 25mm, different density.
There are 2 kinds of PVC foam board, one is Common PVC foam board with white surface, the other is called Exclusive PVC foam board with colorful service. The PVC foam board is made through foaming and pressing into shape with additive. PVC foam board has its characteristics of easily sawed, bonded, nailed, joint and hot moulding.
