Prototype not only turn your idea into reality also playing an important role in R & D and industrial development. How to get a good prototype? Their success depends on the proper engineering and design of size, alloy, and material. SG Prototype have extensive resources for plastic parts runs. Please consider us for support in your plastic part material selection. SG Prototype engineers are happy to suggest material to fit any need. Machining plastics every day gives them a deep insight into plastic selection.
Today, plastic materials include an expanding variety of characteristics for tensile strength, heat tolerance, and chemical resistance. The number of plastic alternatives also continues to expand. Plastic parts can also be polished to an optical finish when required – a quality not available when using metal.
How many kinds of plastic material in prototype?
----ABS, PC, PMMA, POM, PP, PA, PA6, PA+GF, PET, PE, PVC, PEEK, Teflon and some special material.
ABS is a low cost engineering plastic that is easy to machine and fabricate. ABS is an ideal material for structural applications when impact resistance, strength, and stiffness are required. It also can be painted and glued for added versatility.
1. Yellow 2. White 3. Black 4. Clear
1. Excellent impact resistance 2. Good machinability 3. Excellent aesthetic qualities 4. Easy to paint and glue 5. Good strength and stiffness 6. Relatively low cost
PC & PMMA
PC （Polycarbonate）which is the most hard material in plastic. Material color is White/Black and Clear. Polycarbonate transmits 88% of light, making it ideal for windows and similar transparent products.
PMMA(Acrylic) also clear material. PMMA is similar to glass, it provides a cost-effective and versatile alternative to glass and other heavier plastics. It easily withstands the heat from sunlight, cold weather, and dramatic temperature changes, making it a reliable performer in applications requiring outdoor exposure.
