Project Overview
A client from the electronics industry approached us with a request for a prototype that required high mechanical strength, heat resistance, and flame-retardant properties. So our engineering team recommended FDM with black flame-retardant ABS material.

About the FDM 3D Printing project
Material: Flame-Retardant ABS (Black)
Excellent dimensional stability, UL94 V-0 flame-retardant rating, good surface finish and durability, and suitable for functional testing and assembly verification.
Manufacturing Process: FDM 3D Printing
Using our high-precision FDM printers, the prototype was produced layer by layer with a controlled temperature profile to ensure strength and consistency. The final part achieved:
Tolerance: ±0.15mm
Surface Quality: Smooth, matte black finish
Functionality: Withstood flame-retardant performance testing

Project Result
The customer was highly satisfied with the final prototype, which not only met safety compliance requirements but also accelerated their product testing phase. Compared with CNC, FDM provided a faster turnaround and lower cost for small-batch production.
