Project Overview
SG PROTO has years of experience in CNC machining and surface finishing for medical devices and intelligent equipment.
In this project, we manufactured the housing for a medical service robot used in hospitals. These robots help deliver medicines, transport samples, distribute supplies, and guide patients in hospitals, clinics, and health check centers.
The customer provided CAD files and color requirements. They needed a complete solution, including:

Complete Medical Robot Prototype Manufacturing Process
1. CNC Prototype Machining
We started by machining the housing from ABS plastic using CNC milling.
The robot housing was divided into five separate parts: Base, Main body, Arms,
Head (with nurse cap) and tray.
Each part was machined according to the customer's 3D CAD drawings with precise tolerances and proper assembly clearance.
The smooth, curved surfaces accurately matched the robot's modern, friendly appearance.
After machining, every part was hand-sanded and test assembled to check the fit. Any interference between parts was corrected before production, helping the customer reduce development risk and avoid costly tooling changes later.

2. Surface Finishing and Painting
1) After machining, every housing went through several finishing steps, including coarse sanding, fine sanding, and polishing.
This removed CNC tool marks and created a smooth, seamless surface.
2) Experienced painters then applied the final colors:
Glossy medical white for the main body
Matte light gray for the arms
Red Cross logo on the nurse cap using separate masking and painting
3) We can also provide additional finishing services such as:
Logo silk-screen printing
UV protective coating
Other custom cosmetic finishes

3. Ready-to-Ship Delivery
After painting and assembly inspection, each robot housing was carefully packed for international shipping.
The package included:
Custom EPE foam inserts
Reinforced cartons
Fragile warning labels
The customer received housings that were ready for installing motors, screens, sensors, and other internal components.
