Titanium alloy is a high-performance metal based on titanium, alloyed with elements like aluminum, vanadium, and molybdenum. It’s commonly known as Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 titanium, or aerospace-grade titanium.

Titanium Rapid Prototyping

During product development, titanium rapid prototypes are used when high demands are placed on strength, assembly accuracy, and real-world performance. Compared with standard metal prototypes, titanium parts behave much closer to final production components.

Characteristics of Titanium Alloy

1. High strength – Excellent structural strength despite its light weight.

2. Low density (~4.5 g/cm³) – About 60% the weight of steel, ideal for lightweight designs.

3. Outstanding corrosion resistance – Highly resistant to seawater, chlorine, and industrial chemicals.

4. Good heat resistance – Maintains stable mechanical performance below 600 °C.

5. Excellent fatigue resistance – Suitable for repeated loading and long-term testing.

6. Challenging to machine – Low thermal conductivity requires advanced CNC equipment and processes.

7. Excellent biocompatibility – Non-toxic, non-allergenic, and compatible with bone integration.

Titanium Prototyping in Advanced Industries

Titanium alloy is widely used in aerospace, medical devices, motorsports, chemical processing, and premium consumer products. In emerging fields such as drones, robotics, and sustainable energy systems, titanium prototypes show strong growth potential.

Parts can be produced using 5-axis CNC machining, turning, and wire EDM, and finished with anodizing or PVD coatings.
